Ramon Medina

Lead Pastor to Spanish Ministry

Ramon Medina is the Pastor of Hispanic Ministries and has been at CFBC since January 2006. A son of Baptist pastor and growing up in Cali, Colombia, South America, Ramon was always in church. At the age of 10, he had an encounter with Jesus Christ and committed his life to serve Him. Ramon took a very active role in teaching Sunday School, leading the youth ministry, doing missions work with his parents and preaching. He received Bible and Theology training at the Institute of Biblical Studies, which is located at First Baptist in Cali, Colombia.

In 1993, he received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of ICESI in Cali, and while working in the banking industry in Bogotá, continued post graduate work in marketing and finance. But this soon switched to theology, from FLET University in Miami. Within a couple of years, God brought Ramon a helpmate in Nhora Ruiz. They were married in 1998 in Cali and have a child, Daniel Andres.

Ramon and Nhora moved to Houston in 2001, both working as teachers in the Houston School Systems. It didn't take long for them to get settled in a mission church home at First Baptist Houston where Ramon quickly became an associate pastor.

Ramon's passion is for missions, evangelism and building healthy families on a firm foundation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
